Counselling for Men
Straightforward, Face-to-Face Therapy for men in Southend & Central London.
No endless waiting lists. No awkward screen fatigue. Just a confidential, focused space to get your head straight.
Many men find it difficult to reach out for support because traditional talking therapis can sometimes feel overly clinical, abstract, or heavy.
You may be under pressure at work, dealing with the end of a relationship, struggling with anxiety or anger, or simply feeling that you have lost your way.
Perhaps you are keeping everything to yourself, trying to carry on as normal or hoping the problem will sort itself out. But beneath the surface, you may feel stressed, frustrated, isolated or overwhelmed.
You do not have to wait until things reach breaking point.
Counselling offers you a confidential place to speak honestly about what is happening. No judgement, no pressure to pretend that everything is fine and no need to arrive knowing exactly what to say.
What might be going on?
Men come to counselling for many different reasons, including:
· Stress, workplace pressure and burnout
· Anxiety, overthinking and feeling overwhelmed
· Depression, low mood or loss of motivation
· Anger, irritability and frustration
· Relationship difficulties, separation or divorce
· Bereavement and other forms of loss
· Loneliness and social isolation
· Low confidence or self-esteem
· Difficulties involving identity or sex
· Changes involving work, health, fatherhood or retirement
· Feeling stuck or uncertain about what to do next
· Life direction and rebuilding confidence, purpose, and clarity during major life changes.
You might have one clear problem that you want to address, or you may simply know that something does not feel right. Either is a reasonable place to begin.
More than just talking
Counselling does not have to mean endless talking with no clear sense of direction.
I offer a grounded and collaborative approach. We can look directly at what is happening, what may be driving it and what you would like to change. That could involve understanding long-standing patterns, dealing with difficult emotions or developing practical ways to manage the pressures you are facing.
Some men need space to talk without being interrupted, judged or given unwanted advice. Others want clearer goals and practical strategies. We can combine both.
There is no psychobabble and I will not tell you how you should feel. I will listen, ask questions and sometimes challenge you to look at things differently. We will work together to help you understand yourself, make informed choices and move forward in a way that works for you.
Taking the first step
Reaching out might feel awkward, especially if you are used to dealing with problems by yourself. You do not need to prepare anything or explain your whole life in your first message.
Just tell me briefly what is going on and what kind of support you are looking for. We can take it from there.
I offer confidential 50-minute counselling sessions in Southend-on-Sea, Central London and online.
